Harlequin Romance

Of course I’ve read Harlequin romances. I confess. But the problem with them is that the characters are Photoshop stereotypes I cannot relate to. Who can? They are too synthesized and boiled down so all the gritty real life aspects are taken away and color coated for window dressings. Real romances should involve people you bump into on the street or who could be you. That makes a romance an escape fantasy worth spending time reading.
